Foundation Senior Living Administrator

After becoming a certified nursing assistant in 1995 and working in various roles at skilled nursing facilities, Patty Ostapowicz became a certified assisted living administer in 2001 and has served in that capacity ever since in facilities across eastern North Carolina. In 2007, Patty also earned her certification as a preceptor for administrators-in-training and has worked with various people and programs, including the gerontology program at UNC-Wilmington, helping others to obtain their administrator certification. She was then hired to assist in the opening of Foundation Senior Living in July 2021.

Patty’s entrance into the assisted living profession was driven by personal experience, as she spent time in nursing facilities from a young age, visiting with her father, a Baptist pastor, and visiting her grandmother, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

It was in those early years that she developed a fundamental belief that it wasn’t enough to just have the best facilities and services, but that there also has to be a culture that sees their residents as members of their own family. And that is the approach she is taking to Foundation Senior Living and why families can trust their loved ones to her care.

A native of Florida, Patty moved to South Carolina with her family when she was in middle school and later to North Carolina. When she is not working, Patty enjoys spending time with her husband and family, being at the beach and taking walks in local parks with her dog, Luna.
